Steam allows hate speech towards Russians
So when I wrote smth that snowflakes could find offensive, I kept getting immediately community banned, especially if my message was in some ukranian's profile. Yet when a guy insults me calling "russian animal" and uses other derogatory words, Steam has no problem with it despite multiple people reporting his messages? So I have no other choice, but conclude, that Steam allows hate speech as long as it's towards Russians, but no other nations?

Your complaint is politically motivated.

It doesn't matter how you feel about Russia/Russians, you are going to divide people (this may include Steam moderators).

I am dividing? Are you kidding rn? I got insulted on my nationality basis, that guy keeps getting away with it, so I rose this matter here and I'm the offender? Are you okay?

There are cases of xenophobia that Steam has to take care of. Profile comment reports take longer to act on than forums. Just be patient.

You can also file a manual report with Steam Support and report the behavior. If you decide to do that, I advise remaining polite and concise with the report and with Support.

Steam is no place for xenophobia or racism.

I personally know Steam doesn't tolerate xenophobia against Russians because when the whole war first broke out, there was a LOT of Russian and Ukranian hate going on in the forums.

Steam didn't take sides, they banned instigators from all camps.

Personally I'm a bit irked we can't report comments on our own profiles, but are subject to asking friends to do so or having to make a new account.

Like I get it, we're able to curate our own profiles but some things such as racism, phishing URLs, and open use of slurs just don't belong on Steam period.

Wow. the lack of self-awareness here is astounding. You do a thing and get punished, then get mad that other people do the same back at you in a way that manages to keep them off the naughty list.

Sounds like you're trying to bait people into fighting with you so you can report them and are miffed that they're slipping the hook.

You know,if you actually behave in a civil and respectful fashion, , people generally won't feel the need to insult you.

You have very active imagination. You should write books, not answering in the comments on the internet

I guess that part is at the center of any problems you might have with moderation.

Looking at your profile....you are a black Russian living in Uganda?

C'mon man, you know you're just trolling. You got in trouble and you want the other troll to get punished too.

For the concern though, it could depend on the moderator. Moderators are just like everyone else, which means they are just as impressionable and they could listen to political Youtube videos and podcasts. If they go one way or the other, they'll ban your side and not ban the other side. It might not be right to do that, but moderators are not something specially different from other people

The only way to genuinely fix an issue like this is to ban all political talk across all Steam forums and the separate game forums on Steam. Otherwise, you'll get the impressionable people from both sides that'll post political stuff of a more hostile nature, it's humanity to do that.

It's not really imagination to sum up what you're doing in a way that doesn't align with your narrative. News flash buckaroo, no one is beholden to your narrative. If you don't want stupid prizes, stop playing stupid games.

And if you suck at playing stupid games, don't come crying to other users for sympathy.
The problem here is we can't really tell what happened, because in this kind of cases the posts in question will be deleted. That said I've seen people community banned for less .... maybe next time don't start something and don't react let moderation handle it

This topic's about profile comments more than forum posts. Steam takes a bit longer to act on profile comments and Steam groups, but they do act.

For example it took around a month or two for a white supremacist steam group I reported to get acted on, imagine my surprise when the message saying action has been taken against a steam group I reported pops up, also thanking me for reporting. Lol
Ah I've a gander then I thought it were forum posts
No, of course not. It's against the code of conduct.

But it's an accident. Accidents happen.
Just hover your mouse over the comments and then delete them by clicking the icon. Then everything will be fine again.

It just so happens that Russia started a war with another country some years ago and have been in war with that country since then. That does put a bad reputation on every Russian out there.

The fact that you're on an Ukrainian profile, you know the country that your country went to war against, does make it worse.
