VALVe's forum moderation; circle jerk of Transphobia, Racism and one sided hatred.
Title.
I am tired of pretending that the moderators of any of these forums are good, recently one of my friends got a ban for making a snarky remark about someone, but when that same person they made remarks towards said actively transphobic things and did ♥♥♥♥ against the TOS e.g telling people who are trans to kill themselves on their profiles, sending people to harras them, and spam reporting their profiles so they get marked by automod.

I seriously don't get what sort of mentally handicapped moderators VALVe is hiring and letting moderate people unfairly, but I hope they soon stop and that these forums get removed entirely, it'd be for the better to just disable this and instead have more privatised tester based feedback rather than letting any random idiot post on here, the amount of times me and my friends (aswell as random community members) were insulted simply for talking about an issue then trying to politely report to VALVe that someone is being a massive ♥♥♥♥ on their own forums and they ignored us is too much now and something needs to change about this part of the website, the old volunteer moderators had less prejudice and bias than the current moderators, but if it profits VALVe to live off other peoples harm and mental health then i guess its completely fine right?

I'd like to end this by saying that the moderators on here SUCK ASS and don't deserve ANYTHING in life.

Does that mean me and all of the off-topic community should suffer for the rest of eternity just because an actual caveman came out and started being toxic on the forums?

Have you ever even posted anything about being trans on off-topic, and do you know how fast those moderators ban you for not being racist?

Simple procedure:
Report, block, ignore.

Saves you a lot of headache and getting moderated.

you are posting in a forum owned by a private company

this is not some world shattering problem

this is not some grave injustice

go to any of the thousands upon thousands of other boards that exist

create your own and run them how you will if you want

but millions of people post every week and do not have this problem

Any time I've reported content that promotes hate against the LGBT+ community it's been acted on. Providing context when reporting the more subtle dogwhistles helps.

Forum moderation is only bad if it's biased against my specific political opinions.

Good work! I also do my part by reporting all content that refers to the green man from Mario, since it is a dogwhistle for public assassination.

Don't you know? Moderators are "leftist shills" because they don't allow people to hurl slurs!

They're also "rightist nazis" for...not allowing people to name and shame and sling insults!

my favorite one that happened to me is having my game called a "sjw game" when I announced the feature where players could report bugs in-game.

"no merit ever" check my friend Abby's posting history on off-topic lmao, all her comments (even if theyre nice to people) have over 200+ reports on them for no reason, and on steamrep.com, i am pretty sure you could check how many of those were removed without reason aswell somewhere.

Not to mention the fact that a person is actively stalking them IRL and steam refused a real cease and desist back in march

Reports are still checked. Unless you go against the rules, these reports will be dismissed. And if it is done in masses then there is a higher chance for that person to lose their option to report all together.
