Do any of you guys honestly use Steam big picture mode? And if you do why?
The only time I usually activate it is by mistake because the button to activate is next to the minimize the steam application. I am curious if you do like using big picture mode what is it that you prefer over just using the normal steam version?

I copied the background music from the 'tenfoot' directory to use in my music app and then never touched it again.

No it sux. I think it's for people who use it on their TV with a steambox or something

Can't even tell you what it is short of it is a button I completely avoid top right of the client UI and that people who love controllers and hate keyboard and mouse like to use.

I sometimes use it to play around, but that's not really using it I suppose. My main use for it is to play the Steam girl delivery startup movie ;)

I once made my Steam installation open into Big Picture (before the Steam Deck) automatically. It was cool. Until it broke and the login screen was 'bricked'. Just an empty web page where you couldn't do anything but press the Windows key and close the window. and I couldn't access the settings to turn BP mode off, so I couldn't play any of my Steam games until I reinstalled Steam.
Hopefully that's fixed now, that was maybe three years ago.

I don't use it, but it will likely be the main UI if/when I bring back the HTPC since its designed to be a full-screen UI with controller inputs.

I use it when I want to chill and play on my couch/TV. Steam Controller 2 can't come soon enough :2019smile:

Technically I do. I don't use big picture on my desktop but game mode on the steam deck is literally the exact same ui.

You can turn the button off in the settings in the interface option, all the way down, you click a button to show taskbar settings.

I use it when I'm lazy laying in bed and just want controller only type stuff.
I do not use a TV so I have no need to use Steam BPM.

I use it rather often. Why the ♥♥♥♥ should I NOT use it when playing games on my TV? Or even on my desk, when I'm leaned back in my chair, gamepad ready for Tomb Raider (or Soul Reaver or Cat Quest or Elex or...), why should I NOT use BP?

The moment I got a gamepad in my hands, BP is hands down better than the regular interface.
