Flags need a new option
Political rhetoric.
Here in the past few years I have seen more and more political rhetoric on the forums.
Most of it from certain nations and a certain party and their parroted talking points. I do not want this to turn in to a political diatribe, I'd just like the option added.
There is no room in gaming for politics.

Note if you think it's the other side, it's probably yours.

What do you mean, like mine?

The politics rule has been dead for a couple years. Your flag would serve no purpose.
Then it needs to be brought back, I'm getting sick of having politics thrown up in my face on game forums.

By flags to do you mean... reporting posts?

Reporting stuff gives you a big text box to explain what's going on. There aren't "options".

That being said, see the rules at the link in the right sidebar if you don't remember what they are.
The forum functions under a user flag/report system.
There is no rule about using overt political terms.

A certain breed of users would probably make it a sport to get away with political posts that are "veiled", "an allegory" or "read between the lines" and whatsnot so moderators would be buried in work.

The leniency of Steam has ZERO to do with "free spech", their only goal is to keep the workload as low as possible.

There are other options.

Leaving the Steam forums for one.

Ignoring the political topics for another.

This is all about you ... not is what is best for all. If I was a betting man that is how I think Steam would think as well, otherwise the no politics rule would have stayed in effect.

What I think doesn't matter because I can't control how Steam runs their forums. I suggest you look at that possibility.

Besides, do we know if Steam gets money by people using the forums? I would suggest following the money is the most likely reason they started allowing it again.

The first way to reason out why someone does something is always follow the money.

There is no room in gaming for anything I disagree with.

Only what I believe is ok to post.

There, I fixed it for you.

You're welcome.

You're quite wrong.

I'll just continue to flag them as rage baiting troll posts. For lack of a better category.

You're defined what should be allowed to be posted.
