Expedition 33 fatal error on Steam Deck
Hey everyone/devs—super frustrated here. Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 ran perfectly on my Steam Deck a few months ago (pre-update), but after a recent patch, it won't launch at all. I get a "Low-level object serialization failure" error right on startup, tied to GameClipJSON and some middleware/WPE stuff. I installed a mod way back then and fully wiped its files, but that didn't fix it. Seems to work fine for others—any Deck users or devs got a workaround? Willing to try anything to get back to the Paintress!

I’m still early-on in the game, but it’s currently playing just fine with my setup on Steam Deck: Proton Experimental and some lowered graphical/FPS/etc settings.

Sidenote: I’ve never installed any mods for the game.

If that doesn’t work for you, I’d recommend trying Proton Hotfix. If THAT doesn’t work for you, I’d recommend going directly to the game’s subforum (not the general Steam Deck forum) and posting this there:
