I cannot open my inventory in Steam.
I cannot open my inventory in Steam. It says " You've made too many requests recently. Please wait and try your request again later". I am using the steam app on windows. So no web extensions. I am the only one using internet at home. I just want to see items added to my Inventory.

IP Rate limiter. Prevents bombarding of the marketplace and inventory servers by users with browser add on's, Bots, and off site skin / item trade sites.

Too many page requests from the same IP address.

You hit an API quota limit. This quota limit is IPv4 based. If restarting your router doesn't help, you'll have to wait it out.

IPv4 addresses are not unique anymore. As there are more humans (8 billion) than IPv4 addresses (4.2 billion), ISPs have chosen to route users together on an identical IPv4 address. This technique is known as CGNAT.[en.wikipedia.org]

For Valve's inventory and community market API this bundled together group of users using CGNAT or Dual Stack Lite looks like a single user.

If you waited several days to weeks, your only recourse is getting a public IPv4 address. It doesn't matter whether this one is static or dynamic. Ask your ISP on how to obtain one.

If you already have a public also known as dedicated IPv4 address, you should stop spamming inventory actions.
But i have only tried to open inventory once or twice every day since Sunday.

That doesn't mean you are the only owner of public IP address; other Steam users can share this address as well and eventually hit an IP limit together.

Yeah, my ISP did switch to CGNAT recently. But that doesn't mean every user would access their steam inventory at the same time.

Thank you for those words of comfort. I've had this issue for over a week now :steamsad:

I have this bug for months now. Can only access my inventory and market very rarely and only for a very short period of time before it becomes inaccessible due to "too many requests" again. I even got a new internet provider in the meantime, still the same bug. It's stupid, having to use a VPN just to access my inventory shouldn't be mandatory...

Valve is getting tired of all the charges for BS internet requests that could probably be reduced but that's the users fault.

Trigger Button happy dance goes here right!
