Fix and future proof mods in Halo MCC
Updates break mods every time but they don't need to. Simply go into the mod folder, find the modinfo.json. Open it with notepad and then find MaxAppVersion. Change the number next to minor to 9999.

That mod should now work with all future updates.

EDIT: Can't post in the Halo forum but I'm not sure where is best for this discussion. I considered putting it in 'help and tips' but idk.

Can't post in the Halo forum as it's a cesspool but I'm not sure where is best for this discussion. I considered putting it in 'help and tips' but idk.
Cesspool or not, Halo players will go to the Halo forum, so it's best there.

I already know that but I've been banned. I'm just trying to help who I can.
Thanks anyway.

Depends on mod and what is changed in the game. If mod code is no longer compatible with latest game version code then it won't work, period. All your change does is prevent the game from disabling mods that are not made for latest version of the game automatically.

Say an update changed all images used by game from JPG to PNG and game can no longer load JPG's, then all mods containing JPG images would break even if someone changed MaxAppVersion.

Definitely, but since the game is no longer supported in any major capacity, it's pretty safe to assume nothing will break. That could change at the drop of a hat, though.

As a mod creator is there anything I can do on my end to make it so it always works when MCC has these light updates?

Sorry for the necro but I might've found something helpful.
Usually, you are required to use the upload tools, so this wouldn't be able to work.
However, I think this tool [github.com] might allow you to upload your mod with the edited json file, if it still functions. This would in theory make your mod immune to becoming out of date unless another major update happens. (which it won't)
