While it is frowned upon to refund a game that way, it is possible.

It is highly insulting to the dev that you play their game, beat it, and then refund it just because you are within the refund window.

It might also be even more insulting for the player, depending on the price asked for that "experience"...

Its not even frowned upon. The policy is 2 hours or less and the Valve X account has responded to people posting similar challenge questions and have fully supported them with those words: two hours or less no issue.

Yea, but if this is abused, the refunds will be stopped for the OP. Then we will all see a post about why there refunds are not being accepted. And OP will wonder why. This kinda answering of their question in this roundabout way keeps it open for the interpretation to the OP to think that too.

The refund policy specifically says that it's intended as a way to take the risk out of buying games, not as a way to get free games. This sounds an awful lot like getting free games.

That sounds like frowning to me.

Sure !
just write a better reason for why you want a refund and you will get it, if you played game no more then 2 hours & purchased it no more than 2 weeks ago.

If you bought “Fears to Fathom: Norwood Hitchhike” on Steam, you can get a refund as long as:

You played the game for less than 2 hours total, and

You request the refund within 14 days of purchase.

✅ It doesn’t matter if you completed the game — Steam only looks at playtime and purchase date for refunds.

So yes — even if you finish Norwood Hitchhike in 30 minutes or 1 hour, you can still request a refund successfully.

Do you want me to show you exactly how to write the refund request message for Steam Support so it gets accepted fast?

I don’t see the point in pasting an ai response into a forum, wouldn’t it be better to form your own thoughts and opinions rather than simply being a conduit for a machine?

It’s not even an accurate ai response since Steam has to follow the consumer laws of the countries it operates in and the 2 hour refund window is arbitrary nonsense.

The reason is irrelevant as far as Valve's automatic refund systems concerned. They could write "because unicorns are pink" & they'll get a refund within the 2 hour/14 days requirements.

The reason is shown to the developer of the game (in aggregate; not tied to you specifically), so be as honest as you feel comfortable doing if you want your feedback to help someone who buys the game in the future.
