A variation on the current scams going around that have been used for over 10 years.

almost any steam message you get from someone that you don't know personally is going to be an attempt to scam you.

login on to steam on your broswer on offical steam site , so when ever 3rd party site asks you to login , if it legit it will auto sign in if it fake then it will ask for password

Maybe you shouldnt post scam links in any threads. What do you think? Maybe that would help with people not getting scammed?

Maybe....maybe. I'm posting it so you know what it looks like. Comparison. Plus, if you don't use it, then no problem. Although, you would have to be REALLY stupid to miss the big "DO NOT USE WITH YOUR INFO".

This is purely a PSA personal knowledge in case someone else comes across it. Why has it become a debated topic on intent of the OP. Its just a friendly warning to the community. that is all.

No need to increase the chances of it happening by spreading it around more.

You could plaster the entirety of Steam with it and people would still fall for it no matter how many giant warning signs you throw at them.

You can still describe the situation or provide visual details by taking screenshots of what happened without showing any actual scam links at any time if your intent is just to inform others.

You know, there are times I read these topics of those getting scammed and can honestly say while those people are absolute morons I am thankfully they are only being scammed of accounts or items online and not "Hey there's candy in this van". Though too many of those who are scammed do not venture outside of steam/online so the risk of real-life interaction is also thankfully very low.

So you chose to ignore previous PSA regarding this exact same thing? If so that is rather selfish of you to do so instead of promoting those other topics. Or could it perhaps be that ignorance trumps and the PSA is completely useless? Take for example this topic that was created after yours, doesn't seem they saw your PSA and there has yet to be anyone that has said your PSA helped them other than an alternate account that will be created to feign this.
