Valve have become the biggest supporter of hatred and bigotry on the web.
But they are literally talking crap about me?
Can I accuse them of being a liar?
I'd rather have someone call me a snowflake a million times over being told I'm a liar or a harasser. I dont get how this works anymore. I mean I'd rather have someone call me an idiot or stupid or any other dime a dozen "insults" than some terrible accusation that actually matters.
The mistake is thinking that you need to "defend" yourself. You don't.
Valve clearly want this whole forum to be nothing but deranged, racist psychos and trolls, as all they do is rush to their defence.
Is this meta trolling now? Do I get banned for asking if you're trolling me because thats indirectly accusing/insulting you of being a troll? Like I'm so confused I dont even know what you people are doing anymore.
I'm not even being facetious here, I genuinely dont know what the heck is going on with these forums anymore.
Can someone please report this post so that a mod can look at it and at least explain to me what the limits are in a conversation?
PLEASE all. REPORT this post. So I can understand.
Valve just do not care. They have been called out by third parties and even American senators for hosting the webs biggest playground for nazis and extremists and they simply didn’t even respond.
This is clearly how Gabe and his cohorts want things, with their forums being a safe place for hate speech.
I don't even know how to reply to this. Im just gonna get myself banned for real if I do attempt to. Its confused rambling. I do not know what you're talking about.
Nobody was being racist or woke or anything. We were talking about some small strategy game in its own sub forum and because I told him how he could solve his problems without the dev having to make a patch he felt he needed to accuse me of harassement and I called him a snowflake.
That's literally the extent of it.
From your original post, you seemed to be making sense. But now you are unable to even understand my reply?
I think the issue here may be between chair and screen.
A European insurance company once had an ad campaign with the slogan:
"WE'D LIKE TO HAVE YOUR PROBLEMS!"
Need an insurance?
Whenever you write something such as: "You are a [insert word or name here]," or, "You [insert word or name here]," you take a risk of someone being insulted by whatever you call it.
If you can just keep that in mind to not make this string of words, it should be easy enough to remember.
It's easier to remember this, than having to keep track of every word individually, and whether or not the word has a positive or negative connotation to an individual.
Why is actual illegal speech such as defaming someone allowed on steam but calling someone out whose doing that isn't?
I think this is part of the rhetoric of why baiting people is allowed but responding to baits isn't which is a common complaint. I think context should matter and that these moderators shouldn't have such free reign over deciding what's offensive or not but thats beyond the point.
I've seen people be accused of being liars, cheaters, racists, communists, heck I've seen a guy be stalked and called a pedophile.
What the guy accused me of was in comparison minor. But all these things if persistently applied are actual defamation and illegal.
Is the only recourse then to tell the guy he's a liar, a manipulator? Like make up an accusation? That's even worse and it creates toxicity.
Its so passive aggressive it makes me cringe and it feels even more toxic. But I guess when everything lands on technicalities this is where we end up.
