A question regarding the "valve guy".
I'm sure you all know who I'm referring to, that one guy on the valve logo you see when you start up source games like Half Life 2, he's the one with the valve stuck on the back of his head. Just out of curiosity, what do you think would happen if you twisted that valve?

Good answer, I guess I should've known considering Gabe Newell's thing with pipes and stuff.

Good luck with that, i doubt anybody twisted that valve in 20+ years. The thing is probably stuck as hell.

Nothing a little WD-40 can't handle.

The average anticipated service life of a valve is 25 years.

Google: Valve was founded in 1996.

What? No love for the originals ('Valve in eye' and 'Valve in side of head' (last one was unused))?

Honestly I think that Valve means that they can 'control the flow' so to speak.. including closing it down forever.

They opened it.. they can close it. There goes the games, cut off like the flow through the 'valve'

It's original intent was simply "Open your mind". Nothing about flow.

Well then .. I will have to agree with a poster in this thread that it has not been turned in a very long time then. The next time its turned .. things'll close forever.

I still think, that it is used to control the 'flow' no matter it's original intended meaning.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
