Hide game list, but show "In-Game" status. Is it still possible?
With the old steam privacy setting i could keep my list of steam games (or to me more precise, my whole profile) private, but let my friends see what I'm currently playing by just setting the profile to private.

With the new privacy settings which are supposed to give us more control about what we share and what we don't share I can no longer find a way to do that. When I set game details to private and it will hide both game list and game online status.

When i make it public (or friends only), "In-Game" status is shown but also the game list. Am I missing something or is my "privacy use case" not possible any more and all I can do is contact steam support and hope for the best?

Make the profile friends only and the Games Details private.

That hides the "in-game" status

Game details: Private.
This category includes the list of all games on your Steam account, games you’ve wishlisted, your achievements and your playtime. This setting also controls whether you’re seen as "in-game" and the title of the game you are playing.

Any update on this? Would like to keep profile and game list private but still show in game status.

Any update on this? This new private system sucks. I want what you guys want which the old private system had.

Hello there, in the privacy settings you can set the Game Details as Public. But under it you can check this option;

Always keep my total playtime private even if users can see my game details.

This removes the list of steam games played , but you will still have the game status as public.

Any movement on this? Seems like a pretty logical thing to implement to protect peoples privacy. One switch to toggle in-game status, and another switch to toggle visibility of games you own.
Lots of different threads on here and reddit asking for this, but seemingly no response from Steam for the last 7 years.
