Hello !

New to steam (shifting from console), just looking for insights as im too lazy to google/reddit haha. With regards to getting points and making your profile look awesome, it it only via points for purchases?

Yeah you get points for buying games. You can also get some via having someone give you an award and you will receive 1/3 of the points they spent on the award.
