"Prevent Confusion"
Why does every mod have to lock threads that are active with the message of it being locked "to prevent confusion." Who is getting "confused" by any of this? Why is this considered such a major issues that we have to constantly close old bumped threads on mostly-dead forums? All it does is kill the small amount of discussion we already had on these boards. ...how does this help anyone?

And all with the same cheap excuse of "preventing confusion." Given I see the same excuse over and over, its making me believe these mods are just bots running on a program relating to old threads and which isn't taking into account any specific situation. I'd love to know who decided this policy is so necessary. And I'd like to meet this army of "confused" people who just can't fathom the idea of a bumped thread.
