Community Awards are used frequently (somewhat like reddit awards) to support people active in the community, or to support someone for having a good piece of art, or profile. By giving awards, you share points, those points can be used in the points shop later. Many people have no need for points, choose not to decorate their profile, and don't spend points in the shop.

Uses:
- Someone helps you out.
- You like someone's post in a discussion thread
- You enjoy someone's profile
- You like an item in the workshop
- You want to support a friend
- A review was good, funny, or entertaining.

Each award received or given increases your Steam Level XP. Badges and levels have a few functions.

- The higher your level, the higher your chance is for getting a booster pack for a game you own with trading cards.
- You can decorate your profile
- Every 10 levels, you get a showcase for things like achievements, art, workshop items, or whatever else they have as a feature.
- Extra Friend Slots
