How To Create A Desktop Shortcut For Your Game.
Apparently, you can't make a guide for this as this is not a game specific concern. It's more on Steam. No worries though, here are the steps on how to make one:


1. Make sure you're logged in to your Steam account in your Steam Client.
2. Select the game you want to create a shortcut with.
3. Right click on the selected game.
4, Find the 'Manage' setting
5. Click on 'Add Desktop Shortcut'

And you're done.

Which is pretty insulting for the average user who mainly is not tech savvy and still knows how to do such a simple task.

I'm not tech savy, I even had to contact Steam Support for such a "simple task" yet I was not insulted. It depends on the person and how you take it.

It has nothing to do with ppl not knowing how to make a shortcut i have the same issue when i make the shortcut the icon doesnt work its just blank

It seems like the game needs to be released to be able to do this. I just tried doing this with Arc Raiders after pre-downloading it and under Manage after right clicking the game there is no option for creating a desktop shortcut. But the game 'The Finals' does have that option.
