Could not connect to the Steam network?
Starting this morning (good ole' christmas), Steam won't load. I can open the application fine, it starts to connect to my profile, then says it cannot connect and is either a network or steam network issue. My internet is fine. It isn't my account because I logged on this to check that.

I'm having the exact same issue, only mine says "Steam is having trouble connecting to the steam servers." Tried wired and wireless; neither work. Works fine on my pc, though.

I reinstalled Steam and I am now getting that same message. It sounds like the servers could be down (I hope because I'd feel awful wasting my $45 gift from my grandmother). It worked fine at 4:30am and that was my first time playing any game on steam (borderlands 2).

Servers cant be down because I can log in fine on my other computer.

Servers turned out to be my issue. Just needed to wait for the 3 million kids to enter their game codes. It's up for me

I'm getting the same "Steam is having trouble connecting to Steam servers" - is there a way around this? (it's my first ever time on Steam) Do I have to play Football Manager 2013 thru Steam? I don't understand the install process.....

i am pretty disappointed. i do not know if it is a steam defect, or my coputer. i hope it is not steam since i have been a loyal customer for about 9 years. i have never had this issue, and would like help. it is not the internet and i do not know what to do. i am about to give up after days of no results.
