Xbox controller not working after Sequoia 15.4 Update
Hi everyone,

I have a xbox controller connected to a Mac mini m4 with wired usb. Before sequoia 15.4 update, works correct in steam, but after update working only bluetooth.
I accidentally noticed that if I click the steam menu in the mac bar the controller starts working but as soon as I deselect the menu with the mouse it stops. Steam or macOS problem?

the xbox controller on steam worked before the macos update with cable and bluetooth...both with no man's sky and xbplay installed on steam.
But after the 15.4 update it only works with bluetooth

I have this same problem, mine is a Macbook Air M4 also on 15.4 and I though it was some issue of my Xbox 360 wired controller but now I see there's more with the same issue lol

I'm having this same issue, must be something on compatibility of Steam with this version of macOS, because my controller works perfectly on macOS games installed from App Store. This issue only presented after updating to Sequoia 15.4

I've tested just now and the controller does indeed work on any other game from mac app store and also works inside all of my steam games that say "supports your controller" and have the controller shape completely filled if the steam setting for steam input for xbox controllers is turned off

it's totally something related to steam

As of today with macOS 15.5 and latest Steam from May 20th my wired Xbox 360 controller fully works once again.

If anyone is still having this issues with the joystick up and down being swapped, what finally worked for me was installing lumafly. On lumafly install the 'ControllerFixes' mod. There is an issue right now where nothing is mapped to the right stick so I still need to use i to open the inventory, but that is much better than opposite day.
