I think the problem is that you have a very high pixel density, and the "text" is the same pixel size as on a less dense screen.
Because it shows up fine for me.
I have a couple year old LCD.
Key here is if the text is green, the FPS is like 30+. I don't know the exact numbers.
Yellow = 30-15.
Red = 15-
