Leadwerks on Greenlight
Hi guys, I actually got my start in tech making maps for the original Half-Life and Quake games (yes, the ones from the 90s. Back then, "Hammer" was called "Worldcraft"). I'm a huge fan of the BSP approach to level design, and am disappointed that the role of "map designer" has kind of been lost in a lot of modern tools.

I built a new visual tool to make games with modern features, but built around BSP-style mapping. We plan to integrate Steam features like the Workshops. I hope to blur the line between "modding" and "indie game development" because I see a lot of talents in both camps that compliment each other. I want to create something that lets a map designer pull pre-made assets and scripts from the Steam Workshop, and put together a new game that is totally their own, and publish it to Steam.

A lot of people have been asking me about exporting maps to HL2, TF2, CS, etc. I am very familiar with the BSP compilation process, and while that wasn't my original intention, I'm definitely looking into it now. So this could eliminate the need to mess with game configurations, and it is cross-platform so you can use it elsewhere than Windows.

If you like what we're doing, I'd certainly appreciate your vote on Greenlight:
