SteamCMD downloads HORRENDOUSLY slow!!
Re-posted from Help and Tips:

I'm attempting to download garry's mod through SteamCMD on Ubuntu Server HOWEVER I've looked at my network stats and the % only change when there's network activity. It's a 5-15 second delay between the times SteamCMD continues downloading. What is causing this?

Maybe decompression, but indeed its a fact that it is slower than regular downloads..
I downloaded several times the l4d2 dedicated server, always close to 1hr to download, but if i try to download using steam tools (the same l4d2 dedicated version) it comes way faster..
No idea what it can be..

I'm downloading Liftoff, on Ubuntu, and it is ridiculously slow, like 30MB in 3 hours type slow. Like 150 days to download 4.2 Gigabytes slow. WT* is going on?

Can't say that was true for my CS:S downloads - they took only a few seconds (on a 1 Gigabit connection).
