Should the European Union, the US, or anyone else ban social media for non-adults?
Now that Australia has successfully pissed off all its teenagers, should any other countries follow suit?

Good question.

No because those kids are just going to use VPN's and then the government will crack down on the use of VPN's which make it so regular adults can't use them anymore

parents need to learn to parent, as most havent for a few decades, which is why we have many of these problems in life.

governments arent a parents babysitter, nor should they have their noses in families parenting, be it in schooling, or anywhere else.

if you are a parent allowing your underage child free roam of the internet, or anything else beyond what they should be learning in your family, then you are the problem.

until they are old enough (age varies in maturity, as well with parenting) to know the difference between right and wrong, as well as the dangers of stuff online, or outside of your family that may influence them, then they should either be handling and deciding what they can see, do, etc.. on the internet, or not at all until imho... 18yrs old.

gaming itself may be a different story, but should also be held to parenting.

it all boils boils down to, parents not parenting and government overreach, or outside influence.

"families that play together, stay together", along with many other things, that revolves around families, as one should be worrying about life and financial stability, before creating children, then raise said children properly and lovingly, which teaches them to do the same in return.

in any case, have a nice day

Yeah, that's a good point. They've already banned VPN use in a couple states in the US.

Nah, we should not ban social medias, but : we NEED to
a) treat it like a drug, an addicting one, with effects on the brain, but with very manageable withdrawal. Y'all know what a drug is, you know it can destroy a life, bla bla i won't continue y'all know the drill.

then

b) kindly ask the platforms to put an algorythm that rewards less the clickbait and promotes quality. LOL to that.

Social media is just a vehicle government and corporate use to mold malleable young minds so yes. It's a poison too strong for many people and overwhelms whatever logic and common sense they may have once possessed. It was not designed for this purpose but that's what it became.

agreeable, though one needs a strong will and strong mind, to resist influence, as well as see reason and truth.

i been using the internet since it was released to the public, its not once swayed my mind and i have always followed my own beliefs, thoughts and views.

anything i have seen in videos, or written, internet wise, or on national television, i take to the research and learn, to determine its validity.

just as in history, one must learn the past, to avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

have a nice day

Ban foreign social media for anyone under 50.

The darn kids should only allowed local social media, so I can still tweet them to GET OFF MAH LAWN!

I remember back when most social media companies blocked access for anyone under 13, sometimes even 16. And then it all changed when they realised that monetizing the personal information of children is extremely cool and good, and they stopped enforcing those rules or even caring about having them.

So while I don't want the state involved in directly policing it, I'd at least like to go back to the good old days of corporations getting smacked if they try and do anything unethical, such as harvesting kids' data and selling it for a profit despite their legally being unable to consent.

So bring back spanking (for large multinational social media companies).

no, because it means id checks for all social media and eventually the rest of the internet

Yesterday was 90 and we're already down to 50? Be reasonable. 70 is a good compromise, and I don't say that lightly given I wouldn't make the cut.

They say the brain is fully developed at 30, but that's probably just some 30 year old kid trying to act like a grown-up, so 50 it is, that's when people are truly fully developed.

Over 70 they start behaving like a darn child again, and 90 winds them back so far they need to wear diapers.

Good question.

Because a surprisingly high number of parents are unable or unwilling to do it themselves, yet anyone can choose to have even more kids at any time.
