It's as simple as that.
His subreddit has nothing to do with him at this point and is merely used to complain about the "woke dei" agenda in games.
But any time he says something reasonable that doesn't align with terminally online radicals, it bothers them. Why? Because loads other normal people agree with him.
It breaks a radical person's echochamber. Shatters the illusion where they think they're the majority opinion on a given subject. "How can a dude who is so wrong have millions of followers and views?"
Thus they attempt to slander him. Even people who have not actually heard his full arguments. Even if people would otherwise share the exact same views. Even if their only exposure to him is out-of-context clips.
They just presume he's some "nazi" who has roaches crawling up his shirt during streams.
He isn't even particularly right-leaning on his positions. Yet he's become one of the many cases where leftist & centrist content creators and youtube channels get pushed to the right because of left-leaning extremism.
The only "triggering" thing about him is that I have a hard time understanding how a dude who looks as if he smells like an unwashed athletic supporter left on a hot leather car seat for a week is making a living off of essentially being a living Capital-G stereotype.
But then, I also have trouble processing how traditionally attractive people who mostly market "you're not as hot as me" are making a living as "influencers," either.
...I don't understand how Jake Paul has a career except through hate-watching.
I just don't get "influencer" as a job description in general.
This may be my sign that I am old.
he has the bait on lock.
