Their very ideology push them to control others, to centralise everything, to create norms, rigidities and to forbid everything they can. Asking them to respect you and to consider your opinions and interests is asking them to fully dismantle their own worldview. It's simply too violent psychologically for them, they can't do that as it's litterally a mental suicide for them.
They're mentally unable to understand you and they were conditionned this way by propaganda for a reason, to make sure they'll never be able to live without the system they serve.
You can't reason with these peoples and they'll never be reasonable, ever. Except for a select few able, with great efforts, to come back to normal.
but with that said, after all that has happened and with the "far-left", deeming anyone not with them "far-right" (democrats some how) and labeling "white people/white men" as "ist's", "ism's" nazi's and all the other names and insults under the sun....
along with murders, assassination attempts and other complete nonsense....
adding in steam, removing the "no politics, religion and prone to huge arguments" rule, where i became subject to all this nonsense, as i actively avoid, television, social media and anything else pushing politics...., of which i never used the "off topic" forums until about a year ago and watching it slowly fill with hateful rhetoric, violence and worse.
also to note, allowing foreign influence, spam, propaganda, even people posting "death threats" or other "violent words", etc.. to fill up the steam forums, all to sow discourse, division, etc..
and... moderating through "interpretation", instead of "held to definition" between each individual moderator and support staff members, which cause mistakes, not only between, forum users and trying to learn the "show piece" rules, but also conflicting work between all of them as well.
and moderating with bias, etc... allowing some to break rules 24/7 without punishment, while others are punished for tiny things, or not breaking rules at all.
not to mention, the past few decades, of inability to fix the country slowly going down the drain, stealing my tax dollars, funneling in immigrants (illegal or not), tax fraud, soft on crime, defunding police and prisons, emptying prisons, extreme crime, drugs, homelessness, etc.. through my life as i watched everything slowly decay in poverty, while prices soared.
my leaning has tipped "center-right" and im likely to vote republican (not be a republican), simply to help keep democrats out of power, despite not liking government and politics a single bit.
we can all thank the "far-left" and democrats (and valve in the same capacity for subjecting us to this nonsense, being we are here on steam) for pushing everyone right, of the "far-left" away and towards, the "left, or center, or right", to vote against democrats.

you cant have a left or right, without center..
ie... the birds of a feather, the american eagle, the center body that hold the wings, the center balance between the 2 sides, etc.. etc..
you cant lean in a direction, without a center/body to start from.
as the pendulum swings, all things come with a balance.
ie.. centrism/centrist.

Sorry, but i stopped reading when you tried to blame the left for a non affiliated voter firing on Trump. He was registered independent, and even if he was a democrat the actions of one person doesn't represent everyone of that race, color, or politican standing, otherwise i can point to alot of people who opened fire on schools and killed children and were Republican....
Trump might have gotten a lot of votes because he knows how to play a crowd and promise things he has no intention of delivering on, like transparency, not interfering with the states, lowering costs, etc.
There is a reason afterall that since approval ratings for presidents have begun being tracked in the 1940's Trump now has the 2nd lowest rating in history. The only president he has managed to beat is Nixon shortly before he resigned.....
Well, you can, we're not talking about directions here, but about political sensitivities and there is only 4 of them, one for the far left (revolutionarism), one for the left (progresivism), one for the right (conservatism) and one for the far right (reactionarism). But the 5th "center" thing, I have no clue where it come from or what it mean. Everyone use the word, but nobody seem able to give it a clear definition ... Because it's a fraud, it never existed to begin with.
those are directions, from the center.. thus we are talking about the direction of said sides.
also, ideologies and sides, have a political/directional compass (thus direction(s)).

And again, what most peoples don't get it's not about directions, it's about time. You go from the far left to the far right, it's a natural evolution peoples tend to follow through their life, with their beliefs ajusting to their current situation.
It's not as simple as most peoples think. It'll give you some headaches before you finally get it right, because you have to have some informations about the context those where created in (in France, after the french revolution). Those terms make sense in this specific context and most peoples today have no clue about it.
