They stamp each bag with its actual weight. Sure, each bag is the same size but you don't have to squeeze them to find out which one(s) are the fullest.

Same reason your vehicle beeps endlessly if you have the door open with the key in.

They're super easy to open, if you want the chips going everywhere.
Its probably not illegal to carry a small pair of scissors(maybe even the safety ones for pre-schoolers). What works better is a flat 'letter opener' and you won't even cut yourself with it.

The bags use air to cushion the chips during transport. Since they are air tight, they will experience pressure changes. The bags are tough so they won't explode in the back of the truck.

Filled with nitrogen, technically. Inhibits decay. Same way they store fruit, manufacture oxidizeable compounds, etc. Under nitrogen bath.

Cereals are even harder. Some are so hard to open to the point wear I just start using scissors, because trying to open them by force would split the bag!

The sheer velocity in which I would open a bag might embed corn chips in your chest.

On one occasion I had to open a can. Tried to find a sharp rock to puncture the sidewall, smashed it on a rock repeatedly... quite a predicament.

Bags should be self opening and fitted with bluetooth sensors, so modern infomercial-tier idiocracy citizens don't even need to lift the arms for the food to go down their throat. yeah so you cant understand they are filled by weight and the air is there to keep them from breaking......
