When rules are abused (serious topic)
Read one paragraph at a time. You can quote what you want. Just read slowly and carefully.
Take. It. Slow. Rush and you will confuse yourself.

What is normal is not the same as what is true.
What is normal is not the same as what is right.

Once I reach the part where I talk about what's been on the news I think people will consider the danger more. For now keep reading. Slowly. Carefully.

Here's a quote about rules.
"Cowards often find solace in the rigidity of rules. Rules provide a structured framework that allows them to avoid taking personal responsibility for their actions. By hiding behind rules, they create a semblance of order and justification for their choices, even if those choices lack integrity."

Put all of those rules aside for a moment.
Because odds are it's why you're living a lie.

I make no exceptions. Because love is Unconditional.

People blindly follow rules. Even when users say they dont agree with the rules.
If it's clear as day that rules are dishonest then why keep hiding behind them?

Some mods admit their own ♥♥♥♥. I want to see more of that. Granted, it's still wrong to ignore concerns with intent under pay (tickets are ignored btw. Under pay), but at least those people are more self aware/accountable.

Meanwhile what do others do? Repeat the same ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥? Some people just need to be told 10 times over. I eat mods for breakfast. I actually know someone that's a mod actually. Old friend of mine. They admitted to lying. They'd say I'm right to take their mask of.

At this point even mods tell me I'm right.
Now let's crank this up a notch. Let's really address the danger properly.

What if the entire point is to learn from what you have been avoiding your entire life?
You can make any excuse. That's all it will be though. An excuse.

Steam is too big for its boots I think. It's every large company really. Ubisoft used to be good. EA used to be. It really was. But look at it all now. Over time companies get twisted into being more inconsiderate. The larger a company becomes the more strained the line of communication is. So I can understand why it happens. But wrong is still wrong.

People mistakenly think they have to juggle everything at once.
What if it's the reverse of that? Wonderful things happen then.
What if not trying to control everything is the solution?
Direction is important, but what if people are forcing it?

People want to know what the danger is. I told you. Danger and death is ignored. This is 2+2=4. If you try to silence that then what is wrong with you? Maybe you thought I was "full of it". Let's see what the news say then.

It just so happens the news has warned about rules and suicide. Bots were also mentioned.
I also point out the UK safety act is being sued.

Living in fear isn't "safe". It's an excuse to try and control you.
I think it's about time people admitted that more. If it's on the news then you're just lying to yourself at this point. People aren't that dumb. You're just fooling yourself if you pretend rules is an excuse at this point.

The biggest danger is legal.
BECAUSE of rules.

I want to see people talking about the danger of good intentions. In this topic.
Arguments isn't the problem. Not letting people talk about concerns is. It's as simple as that.

The moderators for Steam's OT specifically mirror the way Reddit, Facebook, and how X used to be moderated. Opinion and optics matter more than truth. It is a little boys club here.

When it comes to the Steam OT, I came here after reading more than just a 'few' comments about the moderartion at these forums, particularly the OT while I was doing some digging on this 'We don't own our games anymore' nonsense.

What I have observed is the off-topic moderators in particular appear to be deliberately enabling division and arguments by playing favourites, and using it indirectly to gaslight the community, where they will make scapegoats from time to time where it gives them near-perfect deniability.

They are the 2 + 2 = 5, or the 'five lights' types I seem to have discovered.

The only other places I have seen these child-like versions of Stalinist/Maoist actions online were with Facebook and old Twitter, particularly through the pandemic.

It's best not to take Steam and it's forums too seriously.
