What scares of today's society
If there's something that I see is scarce in today's day and age is the ability to respect an opposing view. I feel like this is mainly a US issue but it is getting more and more common even here in Europe.

People jumping to conclusions, resorting to name calling, picking sides on a heartbeat, being overly reactive, dismissive and hostile to opposing or not even opposing views, just generally different views.

Are you a Christian? Great! Keep up the faith. Are you an atheist? Great! Keep being an atheist if that's what makes you happy. The Christian is not an idiot for being a Christian and neither is the atheist for being an atheist.

Whatever you are, whatever you identify as, whatever you define yourself to be, just be respectful and know how to agree to disagree. It's not about who wins the argument, who knows more or who's the smartest. Rather it's more about respect and being a decent human being.

I feel like this ability to remain courteous in the face of opposition is getting more and more scarce as time goes by. I don't know what's going on with people but it ain't good. I see it even at work, people are super argumentative, no matter the subject. It's pretty sad.

It's all thanks to social media and online anonymity. Everyone has balls of steel until they're face to face with someone irl.
Well said.
