Two actors from main cast of Fallout Season 2 show didn't play a single Fallout title
With exception of Ella Purnell, she played Fallout 4, if it amounts to anything. Fallout 4 is barely Fallout due to how generic it is, but the rest of the main cast didn't play a single title.

And no, "eventually" does not count, it's equivalent of "Maybe, but no" so it'd be more sincere to at least admit you haven't played the games nor you plan to.

Walton Goggins had this to say about if he ever tried to play any Fallout title:
"No, I haven't sat down to play the games. And I won't. I won't. I won't play the games. I'm not interested. All of a sudden, I'm looking at this world from a very different perspective, and as something on a screen in which I am an avatar in. I don't believe that I'm an avatar. I believe The Ghoul exists in the world. I believe that Cooper Howard exists in the world. The best way that I can serve this world and serve the fans of this game, I think, is to go to work every single day and believe the circumstances that I'm presented with"

This is a pretentious answer to what is a simple question. One could just say they haven't played the game and won't cause they're not interested and it'd be fine, but to try and equate it with how it'd affect acting is wild.

no one who has played fallout games is good at anything in life. no one wants to hire a fallout player for a real life job.

Nah this is a common thing with actors. For some of them reading or playing the source material helps. But for others it is a hindrance because they will get anxiety and worry if they are doing a bad job being that charzcter, and that can ♥♥♥♥ up their performance. The Ghoul is probably one of the best parts of the Fallout TV show so I don't mind that he hasn't played it.

Most of the production staff (writers, set and costume designers etc) have played the games.

Don't watch it if you upset by this. I tend to not watch films or read books that are based on video games.

Calling fallout 4, hardly fallout is just cope.
We could argue were it falls in the fallout franchise.

As a game in and of itself it's far ahead of plenty of other games released after.

Whilst it certainly could help actors to get a feel in the end it's what the directors want to happen.

If only more people had your attitude. I don't understand people who watch something and dislike it, but keep watching it anyway. Like watching an entire season of a show you don't like, it doesn't make sense unless your job is to review things.

I thought the new season of The Last of Us was awful and I stopped watching it after the 4th episode lol. Same with Severance.

I wouldnt say it matter much if the cast played any game or not, maybe it would matter if the writters did? But when were they faithful to the material they "following" for their show :steamhappy:

Look if they're actors who can't be bothered to play the game then at least watch a few Youtube videos on the lore, because otherwise you're making a post-apocalyptic show that isn't really fallout with fallouts name.

Does anyone think that the way they changed how ghoul feral works is a good thing? Any Fallout 76 players here that enjoy the new ghoul mechanics and think it'd a straightup upgrade from previous games?

Exactly. Or in the very least they could bother to read Fallout Bible, it's that simple to just google and read it. All the references, sources, and citations are there. All those people say that they were busy with acting and all, and like fine, I'm not against actors not playing the games. People miss the point. The point is how pretentious their response are, especially Googins'.

The development team behind the show didn't bother with the Fallout material at all despite what people say because Fallout doesn't have much to do with the franchise.

Not the point though. No one asks Walton Goggins to buy New Vegas, get Ghoul mod, and play the Ghoul in New Vegas, hell it's not even about asking to play any game, but to at least know the source material.

Like Father said, at least watching some lore videos would be fine.
