Entirely up to you, i am in the same situation i haven't spoken to mine for quite a few years now. I should make the effort to call or go see him but he could do the same so me and him are both at fault i guess and are both too stubborn

True on that.
Cause being a parent doesn't mean you get a pass on treating your child like sh*t.
Cause you bring life into this world and not thinking them as another person at some point...

Means your scum at that point cause there are parents out there that do that for every caring parent that respects and cares their kid who grows up to be a respectable adult.

Meanwhile my relationship with my Dad is strained not because of hating each other... but rather we haven't seen each other for a very long time we don't know what to say to each other... which leads to awkward moments, misunderstandings, you get the gist.
