There were scandals in the past about the Church.

They should just stop this nonsense and let them marry like most other religions.

Yet most other religions and nominations seem to live just fine without it. But of course when people think that theirs is the only real and right one in the world this tends to happen.

I hate predatory priests, but most priests are just regular people who see more action under the sheets than your Call of Duty, camping in the corner butt will ever see.

A priest told me to kms after telling him my delusions about God and the general nature of reality as we know it. I even started crying and he just could not handle it, so he ran away from me. I know this priest too he is a smart man, but I broke him spiritually, I broke his faith in God just with a conversation. I know God is real but it is just disgusting to see a priest run away because he has no answers for you. I was being very nice open and honest and I cried, somebody tell me that I am not the bad guy here, or do you agree with the priest?

Priest used be able to get married until Benedict VIII started the process to remove stop it. Can't let that inheritance money go back to the family now can we? Not to mention that it helped prevents a few families to consolidate power over the church. Personally I think they should allow the common priest to get married, but restrict Bishop or higher to single status only, it would solve a lot of the problems both in recruiting priest and them from looking at the alter boys in funny ways.

Figured it was something like that. Always follow the money.

While I agree that ending the forced celibacy would help a little, there is still an abnormally high rate of abuse among sects that don't mandate celibacy. For those offenders, it has less to do with no available sexual outlet and more to do with the lack of scrutiny, ease of forgiveness and importance of keeping up appearances that these "holy men" enjoy in their power.
