The point is, ultimately, the threat of a weapon is often deterrent enough to alot of people, so even if it might seem stupid to some, just seeing people with guns might deterr a big part of people away from doing something dumb, this is a small town/village, which more often than not, tend to have a stronger sense of community

So maybe you don't trust a random masked stranger with a gun to protect your kids, but you might be more inclined to trust your nextdoor neighbor who is masked and has a gun to protect them.

If the system fails to protect your community, your community should have the right to protect themselves.
