I'd probably order one for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles to see how horrible they are. But, given how little care Google put into this I'd probably end up giving my infos to some scammer in Somalia or whatever.
♥♥♥♥ is so insultingly bad I went a step ahead and installed LibreTube on my phone. No ads, can download video and listen to music on YT with the screen off without premium.
Google can go take a hike.
2. Get extensions - ublock + sponsorblock (+return youtube dislikes)
3. Go to youtube website in firefox
4. 'add to home screen' (mobile) or add shortcut to desktop (pc)
5. ???
6. Profit (never see ads or be bothered with youtubes BS again)
No random github downloads/installs/sideloads needed. 4k, no ads.
Go check out it out, some videos that are 1080p only, are now worse quality than they were 2 months ago, and have the option of - 1080p premium bit rate.
Thanks, I'm using Opera GX with the Ad Block Enabled. I had to put youtube as an exception because if you use ad block, you often still have to wait 15 seconds before the video plays anyway. You won't skip the ad you just won't see it.
Adblocker doesn't fix Youtube not playing with the screen inactive. Like when you're listening to a playlist and driving.
Also, on my Android phone, they make it so if you go to the Youtube website it will try to auto open the app. You can back out and go back to the website but it gets annoying.
I also found, weirdly, that my phone would crash listening to Youtube website in the car on wifi. Consistently it would make me have to reboot my phone. Premium, oddly, fixed it.
It's very predatory.
straight from their own "AI".
their "premium" service, also forces ads on you.
as for the resolutions, so far, depending on the uploader, i find, i can choose up to 4k, 2k, but mostly ends up with videos only going up to 1080p.
as for w/e else youtube (google) is doing, im sure plenty of it "anti consumer".
have a nice day peeps
