Yep, final season.

Looks like they're setting Steve up to die. He's having beef with Jonathan and Dustin, and isn't with nor foreshadowed to be back with Nancy.

Him sacrificing himself and Dustin realizing he's been a douche all season seems like a character growth thing the Duffers would do.

She tries so badly to wannabe a grown up and hanging out with the wrong sorts. Her appearance has changed from the stranger things to a 40 year old make-up plastered ragdoll.

That would be brutal.
But I think killing Steve would be too obvious. I hope they find a better way to impact the viewers; killing Steve is the easy way to cause a stir.

What if at the end it’s revealed that it’s all just a big DnD campaign? I’d have mixed feelings about that because on one hand it’d mean everything that has happened is fake but also in the other hand it’d be epic for one DnD campaign. It sounds like the kind of twist the brothers would pull.

Actually, the Duffer brothers have already denied that.
They said it won't be a big D&D campaign, nor will it all be in Mike's head as an attempt to overcome Will's death (there was that theory too).

They confirmed that it will be real.
