I dont think they make their own AI though(?). They license the other ones, and you can choose which to use.
It's not a good time to try and build a PC.
The problem isn't that it's going to take over the world or anything, the problem is that it's just generally making the world worse. It consumes grotesque amounts of water and energy, enough to increase electric bills, it literally poisons the water wherever the data centers are established, usually near communities which are promptly destroyed, the chatbot aspect has proven to be mentally harmful to people, people seem to be increasing how much they rely on it (recently an army general said he was using ChatGPT to make strategic decisions), it's taking jobs, and AI as a whole is contributing to a world where we can't actually trust what we read or see.
