You bought him a B-day gift, but he doesn't wear it the next day.
Your reaction?

Acceptance that failure to immediately adopt visible proof of fealty to my whims does not, in fact, constitute a weakness in our relationship.

:steamthis: That.

Btw, you do know that you're supposed to wash new clothes and bed linen, etc before using them right?

"why does he hate me so much" immediately forwarded by poisoning every meal i give him. (not genuine)
My reaction?

I go on about my day and appreciate the hard work I placed into finding the perfect B-day gift.

You're assuming everyone's spouse would be a man?

I mean, I'm a dude, married to a woman. If she doesn't immediately throw on something I bought her, I don't get my boxers in a bunch and assume she's humping someone else.

Would cut the same way if I were into dudes.

Needing your partner to immediately display visible gratitude for every little thing is a sign of personal insecurity that will, over time, erode the relationship; failure to wear something *the next day* is not.

No. Those were your words.

If the recipient's gender was not male exclusive. Then perhaps you should have said "him/her/them" and "he/she/they"

Probably waiting for a sepcial occasion as to not wear your precious gift down.

Washing machines are a blessing but hard on textile.

Take a step back and look again.
If my girlfriend bought me a Tshirt for my birthday I wouldnt be very impressed. But I am 45. I guess I was phrasing that too nicely. I would dump her and get someone that loved me. Thats just me though. For a teenager or something it would be an ok gift though. Or from mom or grandma. But if its for an adult with a job in a relationship, that would be an insulting gift.
