The gaming industry is dead
Corporations and buyouts have destroyed the last few AAA franchises I liked and now I'm burned out on them all. recently it happened to Battlefield after the Saudis bought EA out and then ran out of money almost right away. All that will be left to go to in the future are indies and those games are just inferior clones of things that already exist or just clones of each other. Who else feels the same?

Well they did fly planes into our buildings. If only they had a better simulator it wouldn't have happened.

The fact that anyone was still playing "AAAa" games kind of surprises me.

Those companies are nothing but husks of what they were even 10 years ago, let alone 15 or 20.

Quality gaming is coming from either small indie studios or self publishing studios. We're swimming in great games these days, assuming people take off the beer goggles "AAAa" publishers have been trying to glue to their face.

If it's just triple-A that's "so over" then the Gaming Industry is doing just fine.

IMHO.
...Or made a good product rather than ignoring their fans criticisms over profit.
...Or in Nintendo's case sue everyone so that they can keep making products without putting any of the effort in them so that they can keep all the profits to themselves.

And in Bungie's case. Under promise, Under deliver, and expect people to be happy about it or you're fired.

I don't keep track on Microsoft or Sony.
I just know Halo CE remake 3 is gonna be disappointing as we're going back to one... even though the correct option was to remake Halo 3... cause Halo 3 is good on its own... but eventually that is going to get the remake treatment no matter how diehard of a Halo fan you are.

...Cause most of them now are depressed on how the franchise went.
...And Sony?

Oh they're just gonna re-release games from the PS4 to the PS5 with better graphics and optimization with minimal work on releasing sequels or new games for the console.

...Cause why make a new game when you can re-release the Last of Us Part 1 again for the PS6?

Todd Howard's voodoo magic managed to attract some followers and higher ups at Sony even when Bethesda got bought by Microsoft.

Cause you can bet your ass that they're going to re-release Skyrim again for the PS6, Xbox whatever, and Nintendo Switch 1 and a half.

if the last games worth playing are indie then that means the standards will just get lower or stay the same without any innovation

Indie is the home to almost all the innovation in games now, though.

all i see are very simplistic cookie-cutter games or another lethal company clone. can you point me to any innovative indie from the past 5-10 years? something that AAA uses today?

Wait nope that's a lie I beat borderlands 4 that's was ok. For the most part I've given up on all video games

Imagine being so creatively inept to not appreciate indie games. They have been some of the best experiences I've had and if you think all of them are "simplistic cookie cutter" you look only at surface level and never anywhere else.

It must be tiring to only enjoy the slop that AAA can produce.
