What do you think should happen to Puerto Rico?
Is it a burden on the United States?

I think it's silly that it's not a full US state.

Like...it's either part of America or it's an independent country. But apparently it's neither.

It's a territory. Adding a new state means other states lose congressmen. Nobody wants to be the state to lose a congressional seat, so Puerto Rico doesn't get added in.
They were cool until the whole Bad Bunny issue. Now I think they need to go. But we need the island so the Chinese dont occupy it and launch missiles at us, the only reason we put up with them.

It should be made into a state, if not then give the people living on the island a vote. Ask them if they wish to remain american or not. Simply really.

Anyway, I watch to much youtube, tik tok etc and what I find funny is how so many people don't even know Puerto Rico is even part of the USA including many american's, I find this shocking to say the least.

"This land is your land, and this land is my land..
From California to the New York Island..
From the Redwood Forest to the Gulf Stream Waters.."
...and from the overpopulated cesspool cities to the Puerto Rican islands...
This land was made for me to OWN IT... GET OFF MY LAND!!

They have held a vote several times in the past, and can't get a majority for any of the choices.
Which were: apply for statehood, remain a territory, or seek independence.

Probably they should remain a territory, as the other states don't want to give up Congressional seats to them, and it is unlikely their economy is strong enough for independence.

The island really should work on it's tourism image, they would make more money as an island if they did. Considering it's past, it seems they more or less like how they got it now, if they wanted to break away, most US citizens would not really care, but then the island would lose some of the perks of being a territory.

Puerto Rico do vote, however they cannot vote in presidential elections. The thing is half the Puerto Ricans voted to become the state and while the other half doesn't. Neither side got the majority. The Statehood question has been voted time and time again in the past, each time, the majority votes to remain as territory.
