But it won't be the end. Humanity will be mowed down to maybe 33% and then start over from a medieval, pre-industrial age. Then do it again and again.

I don't think mars is the answer...... That is a rather hostile environment. Humans cannot survive outside for more than a few seconds.....

I fully expect that we will be the architects of our own extinction long before we have the capability to populate other stars. (which would be the ideal solution....)
