Life, it's a funny old game.
The Elder Scrolls III, IV, and V.

*presses F many times*
Gothic 1.
RPing with AI.

fffffffffff
No Man's Sky in VR.
Stalker, at night, in the rain, nothing beats the zone.
Eternal Darkness

I about had a heart attack when it told me that my save was corrupted, so it was going to format my entire memory card.

It's not funny when that happens to your Gamecube memory cards for real and you lose all your PSO data. :(

I got freaked out when it turned off my display and was playing audio of my character getting massacred. But the memory card on really got me. That game definitely knew how to mess with your head.

And yeah, I had a lot of other data on my card, so that's why I was freaked out.
Skyrim, NaissanceE, Ico, Shadow of the colossus, Silent Hill 1, Euro truck simulator 2
Skyrim VR with all of the modlists to make it a full fledged VR game (it's been ages so I can't remember the full mod list) and actually physically walking from place to place as much as my playspace will allow.

It's immersive as all hell to actually reach down to a scroll case on your belt, open the scroll case, pull a paper map out, and then use landmarks to figure out where you are on the map rather than just pressing a button and have the skyrim map pop up.
Skyrim at 2am with headphones on and exploring outdoors during the night with the stars and many moons.

Most immersive game you've played?

Splinter Cell
Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Deus Ex
Thief
Hitman
Dishonored
Metal Gear Solid
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins
Aragami
Oblivion because it was the first game after upgrading my Windows XP system to handle newer games after failing to get it running with Oldblivion. It still took up to 40 minutes just to install the base game but those few years from 2006-2010 was the most immersive. Stalker and a Concorde flight sim come a close second but Oblivion and the soundtrack was magical.

The first time I saw a giant rat bounding towards me in the starting sewer blew me away because I had never seen those types of graphics in a game before and that was just a rat. Or being awoken by ghosts at Benirus Manor.
