Aristocratic vs oligarchial tendencies

From what I can gather and im most likely stereotyping.......

Aristocrats are from nobility and royal blood and form part of the ruling class or upper class. An aristocrat knows he/she is better and more worthy than people underneath them 'aka' the working classes / the peasants.

While a oligarch comes from the people and is self made, sometimes corrupt, power hungry and has lots of political influence to change how the government opearates.

This is the difference between classical civilization and liberalism.
