why wasn't the star wars sequel trilogy more political?
I know what people say about politics in the prequel already, I want an explanation. I understand that complaint, but I don't believe there is anything innate in the topic of politics that is bad for star wars. Don't forget the sequels begun at a time when game of thrones was dominating the culture. It was in every advertisement, every interstate, every major department store... politics is apparently a thing people are delighted for if it is done well. I can't really remember an era of media when this wasn't the case. Also, Andor was popular.

it was meant to be an adventure and escape the every day hurdles in life like politics and religion, not everything needs to have a agenda or be politicized

They could not even keep a simple consistent plot across the sequel trilogy, how would they handle subplots and nonaction dialog?

I haven't watched the sequel trilogy, since they're garbage, but aren't the New World Order or whatever the new baddies are called outright nazis? Isn't there a side quest on a "capitalist casino planet" in one of the movies?

Seems like they're pretty political already.

You're right! They could ♥♥♥♥ it up even more! What a missed opportunity...

Nar Shaddaa is Hutt Territory. they're like space cartels, or space saudis
Because, begrudgingly, and that's to the extreme: George Lucas could at least write a coherent theme, including political ones. Empire being fascistic and Rebels being like the French resistance etc etc. Palpatine coming to power via manufactured events, manufactured consent, and abuse of democracy etc etc.

Whereas the sequels were written by a checklist and a marketing team.

Kinda weird how empire coming about put an end to alot of violence throughout the galaxy extremely fast. plot hole or deeper meaning?

Are you asking me if they cannot find or afford an appropriate story team to make it happen?

Andor was popular because the events takes place in between Star Wars Episode 3 and 4 during the beginning of the new Galactic Empire. We get to see the dark days when Jedi was no more and the darkness and hopelessness reign in the galaxy.

As for Star Wars movies series. Star Wars Episode 9: The Rise of the Skywalker was the last of the series. I think that movie touches the ending and the balance of the force was restored. There's no need for any more to the series.

Yeah, I think the movies could have done a lot better if they had involved generational squabbles, feminist psychos with pink hair, a female protagonist who is inexplicably better at the Force than every man in the whole property has ever been, Nazi imagery, a power vacuum and a lesbian kiss.

And I guess something else, that wasn't already in them.
