How do you deal with this situation?
You play the game, you get to the hard part, you repeat it but you have to start from checkpoint where you have to play the boring easy part again and it takes a bit

How do you deal with that? I just quit for some time when that happens

turn on a stream or youtube video for some background noise while you slug through the boring easy part. pause it when you reach the part where you need to pay attention again

It depends on how boring/long the segment is. I either brute force my way back or do something else for a while.

Those are the worst kinds of checkpoints. Especially the kinds that make you sit through unskippable cutscenes.

@OP: Have you ever heard of a game called Jak 2?

Because….

"There's no way...you're taking Kairi's heart!"
I either keep trying and get annoyed, but get past it.
Or I take a break, come back and then somehow breeze through it.

Lmao, so true. I was going to say the same thing. Im stubborn though, im guessing you are too.

Ill try a few times before giving up for a day. And then the next day it is typically easier, were prolly wasting our neural capacity on a video game heh. My problem is deciding I need a break from something and then just never wanting to go back. I beat final fantasy 4 and im just struggling to play through ff4 the after years.

Its funny when you really enjoy something like a game, book, movie/show, whatever. Its so easy to consume. But if its just ok, its hard to get through, in my experience anyway.

You can often find locations of save files in some cases but checkpoints leave few options. I could not finish the final boss in Witcher 3, which baffled me to no end considering all the other fights were a walk in the park. I defeated every boss in Elden Ring but could not finish the casual game of Witcher 3.
So in your case, If online help isn't working, I would just uninstall after say, 20-30 attempts.
I find an email address for a developer and send them a famous image titled hello.jpg (after signing them up to every possible email newsletter, you can do it automatically by the thousands and thousands these days, it's great).

Catharsis over, I then I grit my teeth and get back to the game. I won't let even boredom defeat me. Just power through.

Give a negative review for bad checkpoont.

How dare they think player want to start anywhere before the hard part!
I probably didn't buy that game in the first place ....

There's rareley a long section before a boss.

In general, if a difficulty-spike prevents progress, I quit the playthrough and give a thumb-down.

I do that a fair bit too, and what's worse is if I do finally decide to go back, I'll start the game over from the beginning again.
I won't hesitate to lower the difficulty if a game gives me the option. There's no shame in it if you're just looking to have fun or experience the story. In most cases, this reduces the grind for resources and keeps bosses from becoming tedious damage sponges. And I say this as someone who actually finished Battletoads back in the day, when you had only a limited number of lives and no way to restart from a checkpoint.
