Are we men, or are we mice? - we're mice!
I really enjoyed the original Steven Kings - It, even though it's pure nightmare fuel, it really captured the sheer terror of an omniscient, omnipresent, telepathic, shapeshifting, telekinesic spider that eats children.

I also thought The Mist was done really well and had a great twist ending.

Beep beep, Richie.
Sweet dude. I didn't really like the new movie iteration - so I hope the TV series is better.

The tv series takes place approximately 27 years before the events with The Losers Club, and each following season will go back another 27 years.

Oh man, that's a great idea.

I was told the main villain of the Steven King universe is Santa Claus. Never read any of his ♥♥♥♥ so I don't personally know.
I've read some Stephen King books, but it was so long ago that my memory of them has faded. The last thing I read was his short story collection, If It Bleeds. I haven't watched the new It movie yet because my to-watch and to-read lists are already quite long. On a different note, I have It on my friends list, he's a great teammate as a shark in the asymmetrical shooter Depth (no longer updated).
the books, including the bachman, yes

the movies are just not up to the task

they sometimes get close,

but there is so much head f'ing going on that it is too hard to really capture

I just added five years to your age. It was a long time ago for me too.

The freakiest King book for me was Pet Cemetery.

Favorite Stephen King movies are The Shining and Shawshank Redemption.

*cough* Pet Sematary *cough*
Oh boy that It book is pretty hefty - and reads just like the movie.

I dug on Pet Cemetery (the original) movie when I was a kid - I remember thinking it was good. Tommyknockers was alright too - bit dated now, but when your a kid, it's total nightmare fuel right - I remember being particularly scared about that one.

Here's Tommyknockers free on YT - if anyone's in the mood for some nostalgia:

I'm in my 30s. Yes, it's a highly respected classic. My literary preferences lean strongly towards sci-fi, dark fantasy, and horror - specifically stories centered on post-apocalyptic worlds, supernatural beings, and unusual situations, as opposed to everyday human relationships (unless portrayed against the backdrop of a collapsing reality) or political themes. I'm familiar with Pet Sematary; it's a prime example of how the denial of death and the desire to return to the past lead to tragedy.
