But, anyway, not my concern atm since I already got a PS5 and I intent to use it as much as I possibly can before I switch platform. Just sharing what I think might hurt consoles the most with this.
With all the online stuff and subscirptions, it makes no sense for me to get a console. I can do all that on PC.
Also there has not been a relevant "console only" game in years.
Current gen consoles should hold up for a while anyway. The GabeCube could also turn out to be a complete failure.
Sony as well with their Exclusives. Nobody seems to budge from PS.
And then you have the sports markets Steam is not really accustomed.
Def a welcome addition, but not a console killer.
steam deck was a success and wasn't even close to switch sales
