Thoughts on the show
Hello!

Edit: thanks for the replies!

Is the Avatar show worth watching? I would sometimes flip by it on TV. It never caught my interest. I was in my 20s when it aired, so maybe I was too old for it? I'm 39, so if I was too old then, I might be way too old for it now.

I think the art style is kind of cute. I opened a pack with a moose lion, and I used my mastery orbs to get the green sleeve with the guy doing a punch. The flying beast is pretty cool. It's kind of like Falkor from Never Ending Story.

Now I happened on it as a teen and then came back to it in my 20's when my buddy asked about it. Avatar The Last Airbender may be a little on the younger audience side for you without the nostalgia but is still a very good story.

NOW the follow up series.......

The Legend of Korra is great IMO. Aang is/was a younger kid in ATLA and Korra is like 16-17 at the shows start. You do not need to watch ATLA to understand TLOK as they do that in the show and if you get through the first season and like it it only gets better. I'm hyped for the next series. Korra is a straight beast. I don't much like UB sets but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I wanted Korra more then Aang.

EDIT: WITHOUT SPOILERS The last Airbender has a much more underlying/light hearted take of what is occurring in the world at large as Aang was a kid so they don't get to deep early on.

The Legend of Korra starts lighthearted and then takes the gloves off. By then end of the first season you will see what I mean.

I fully recommend it to anyone whom likes animation and again Korra is....without spoilers a bit more 'serious' then ATLA even with the world set up in ATLA.

I recommend both the original series and Korra, it is a great example of a well thought out story that planned its arcs from the beginning and never overstays its welcome, while showing a good amount of growth for the characters. Plenty to enjoy for adults as well as kids as you will be able to appreciate more of the elements at work.

Dude, don't bother about Age, watched the Show so maybe around 15 years ago, first partly on german Nickelodeon channel and later got in some marathon with a buddy, and this show was really good, especially mid-series was astounding in terms of Story Writing and Character building, found the last third lost some of the series flavour but completed the Series itself really good, in my Opinion. Also finale was really epic!

Cant much tell you about, Legend of Korra but i guess it has a big fansbase and it's somekind of story continuity, i guess ? pretty sure saw zuko in old age or something. Maybe i will give this also a chance, in the future.

Make a big way around the Real Actors Film, it was really Horrible...

Ive never been able to get into it. I watch scenes of it hoping for that pure Shonen energy and it just fails.

The live action movie I saw was pretty much mainstream pop movie stuff. Fun, not too deep, all the usual arcs and characters. Good if you weren't expecting high art.

The show is made with a young audience in mind, but it's deep enough to be engaging for adults as well. Think about it as a show that tries to appeal to everyone.

LOL at Korra being a more serious show. Exact opposite actually. Aang and company may be younger, but that just makes what they go through far more grim when you take a moment at all to ponder it. Korra is what we call mollycoddled. Has everything handed to her easy.

And Uncle Iroh voiced by Mako, for my older fellows is the old wizard in Conan that helps him in both films. His VA work is head and shoulders above anything in Korra's series. His death was a loss and left a void that is noticed in the last season of Airbender.

And nothing, nothing in all of Korra is half as emotional or heartfelt as hearing Iroh brokenly sing about a little soldier boy marching home while mourning his son who died in war trying to fill his fathers shoes after Iroh for honor stood down.

The show is great and as a kid I really enjoyed it. Even now as an adult, it's childish at times but it makes sense when you remember he's 12. Korra gets a lock of flack but I enjoyed it but the last Airbender is honestly a great show.
