Guns are a device that enables humans to kill easier. Hence, there is no clear winner in the debate.

When a idiot picks up any weapon its going to end badly, so maybe dont arm idiots or make it so they can't acquire any guns to begin with.

But banning guns is an easy way to prevent it.
Killing spree with a knife is not as lethal. And people tend to be more respectful when their target can fight back.
