I'll confess, I am a bad person. I found Charlie Kirk's death amusing.
I was indeed initially shocked when seeing the video of him get shot, but some of the jokes about it were funny (like the cherry cola fountain comparison). Also, the resulting chaos after his murder was also funny - the political mudslinging and all.

I'm going to hell, am I? (Or if there is no hell, I'll probably die a painful death, I bet.)

But I will not be shamed into mourning a man whose views and goals were dangerous to some of my students.

No, it doesn't. Loss is loss, and there will always be someone to mourn the deceased. Some passings may bring relief, or apathy, but they should not bring joy.

I feel awful for Charlie's kids. They witnessed his murder, and will carry that forever.

But I will not be told I'm "celebrating" just because I refuse to participate in the hagiography of the man himself.

Agreed. But the radical left do. Just look at the Bluesky responses. Just look at the various responses around the country.

I have a question, Walrus. What is your take on Darth Invader? You were friends on another forum. Now you guys disagree politically. Still friends?
