Does crystal disk mark really reduces the lifespan of sdd
Since it uses heavy writing and reading

Someone told me not to use cryaral disk if your ssd is more than 3 years old because older ssd are more prone to the damage

With a good quality SSD, you wouldn't need to use this crap and basically test the operational SSD read/write using standard PowerShell/Terminal. Good SSD/HDD are pnp.

It's crucial to check your ssd speed once every year upon the expiration in it's warranty to see if there is a degrade in it's performance or whether it's time to get a new one or not

Especially if you have some data that you don't want to lose

no, but a variety of drives induce degradation when the SMART is read by design. it's a fairly large corporate conspiracy that allows them to hide the hardware failures under the SMART regulations they've agreed to.

most of the corporate executives responsible aren't aware this is happening, as the conspiracy centers on robogangers their downstream has hired; first to staff their warehouses, and now in retail, shipping, and other diversified outlets after the warehouse crackdowns.

if the SMART hasn't been doctored it can't induce drive degradation; the standards designers were not dumb.

I store my crucial and critical data on reliable HDD's. There is zero reason to OCD test a quality SSD, this is more of a mental health issue to constantly worry, HWiNFO is better.

HWiNFO just reads the serial number, reports it to the corporate headquarters along with your MAC, and makes up stat info doesn't it?

Given that HDD's tend to experience reduced performance rather than catastrophic failure I can see why this would be desirable. There's no actual consequence for the info being COMPLETELY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MADE UP.

CDI at least bothers to ping the drive's actual SMART data, and gamble on whether this is harmful or not, instead of simply making ♥♥♥♥ up.

But if you have drive-centric ocd, by all means. Take the made up ♥♥♥♥.

(That's how ocd works right, they can just take the made up ♥♥♥♥; that isn't BPD masking at all right.)

You can wait until your ssd is more than 5 years or longer or until your applications and even os stored in your ssd becomes slower or stutters while being used and then you check your ssd read speed only to find out that there is only 350 mbps read speed instead of 550 which is a clear sign of a dying ssd and if you continue to use crystal disk mark then your ssd will die likely after 4 to 5 uses of that application this is why I'm curious that crystal disk mark significantly reduces the lifespan of ssd especially older ssd
