I’m planning to move to the United States in December 2026, most likely to the Dallas area.
I currently live in Europe, but I speak English fluently and culturally I’ve always felt closer to the US than to other major world regions. I don’t speak Russian or Chinese, so living in those places is not realistic for me. The US feels like the most natural option.

I’d really like to hear the opinion of Americans (especially Texans) about someone like me moving there. I’m originally from Africa, I’ve lived in Europe for years, and I’m aiming for a calm, stable, hard-working life in Texas. Nothing extreme, just a normal patriotic, right-leaning person who wants a fresh start in a country with opportunities.

I have some questions :

How is Dallas for newcomers who want a quiet and stable life?

How do people generally view immigrants who speak English and come legally with long-term plans?

Any advice for integrating, avoiding problems, or choosing the right area around Dallas?

What should I prepare in advance to make the transition smoother?
