It was a smart move by Mr Trump and one i predicted as being a "hugfest". Trump knows more than anyone in what happens when you make someone a politcal hero by demonizing them.

He also is having an issue with younger voters trending towards Mr Mamdani.

Most of all, Mamdani is a winner. And he beat the odds of all the power and money put against him, including Mr Trump. Trump respects that.

That is not an enemy that you want, particularly one that runs the largest PD in the world, heading Task Forces with the Federal Government as far as Intelligence matters in the largest international hub of the United States.

My guess is, Mr Cuomo will now be indicted on the Nursing Home connections. That is what Mr Trump feels should happen to losers.

In any event, the "poster child for communism" is not going to happen in the Republican Party.

Likely because Mr Trump knows people in Iowa are not going to the polls this midterm caring for who they voted for in NYC.

Biggest winners in todays event? Mr Mamdani. Mr Trump, the City of New York.

Biggest losers? Fox News, Turning Point USA, Elise Stefanik, Andrew Cuomo and AIPAC.

I'm sure it'll get back to business as usual in due time.

But politics makes strange bedfellows as they say.
